At each of its monthly meetings, the
Baldock Society Committee reviews every planning application
affecting the Parish of Baldock that was submitted during the
month since it last met. Where the Committee feels that the Society should
comment on any proposal, it writes to the relevant body to submit its
views. The decision to comment on planning applications is always made
in line with the following two objectives of the Society: |
- to encourage high standards of planning and
architecture;
- promote the preservation and protection of the
local historical environment.
Most planning matters in Baldock are administered by
North
Hertfordshire District Council and so comments are usually sent direct
to the NHDC planning department. The Committee may also comment
on consultations administered by
Hertfordshire County Council
and regional or country-wide issues such as the East of England Plan. It
also makes representations on matters identified by its members. In
short, the Society undertakes to review and comment on anything which it
feels may affect the Parish of Baldock, in line with its objectives.
This section of the website allows you to see the
representations that the Baldock Society has made to relevant
authorities on planning applications, other consultations and locally
identified issues since
February 2007.
