We are writing to object in
the strongest terms to any waste development site near to
Baldock, North Hertfordshire, as identified on insert map 064.
The site you have identified is within 100 meters of an
established housing estate, adjacent to our largest
industrial/commercial site and on land already identified by
NHDC for more suitable developments.
Baldock is now undergoing a significant regeneration following
the opening of the by-pass and this proposal would set that
regeneration back completely.
Our main concerns are:
1. Increased heavy traffic around the town.
2. Unsuitable facility within the town that could discourage
future investment and business expansion.
3. Site adjacent to housing.
4. Site adjacent to existing business.
5. Loss of land that is allocated for other more suitable
development and facilities for the town, and/or suitable to
expand for more appropriate business/commercial use.
Although this site has been previously identified by you and is
only suitable for an "enclosed" facility, we request it is
removed from your "preferred options" at this review.
Thank you for considering our views, which we have deliberately
kept to key points, on this matter.

pleased to provide you a more comprehensive reply.
