About Baldock and Gallery |

| Baldock is a market
town located in an area showing evidence of human settlements dating
back to pre-roman times. It is located in North Hertfordshire, just
off the A1M motorway. There is only one Baldock in the United Kingdom,
so it is easy to locate on any map. Baldock has many places of interest
to visit and is a typical English Market Town. |

The town itself is worth visiting just to walk
around and view the many Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian buildings,
the 17th Century Almshouses, 12th Century church, museum and Victorian
Town Hall.

| The High Street is unique to
Hertfordshire and is one of the widest in England, giving the town a very
different feel from many other market towns. Baldock is an active market town and there is
always something going on. Below is a selection of events: |

- Baldock Society Meetings in the Community Centre,
the third Thursday of each month (except December). There is a guest
speaker, raffle, refreshments as well as discussion on local issues.
- Talks on local subjects from the Baldock Museum
and Local History Society.
- Baldock Museum open 11.00am-1.30pm Wednesday and 2-4pm
Sundays.
- Market day, every Wednesday in the High
Street.
- Annual Charter Fair in October.
- Baldock Festival in May each year including a
Medieval Street Fair.
- Floral Society Show every year.
